Trip to Sacramento

Today the taxi was waiting for me at my door at around 6.30am. So started my trip officially at 6.30am I would said, despite of having to wake up at 5am to shower, and do some last minute packing hahaha.

Flight departing KLIA at 09:30am, so headed to the lounge when I arrived at KLIA after checking in at the counter and going through the immigration. Thanks to Priority Pass given us the chance of using the lounge while not having the extra cash to purchase a business class ticket haha. :) Here we go, had my favourite espresso and a Tuna sandwich for breakfast, although there are plenty of food displayed.

ok well, my journey begun... first time on Cathay Pacific, personally I don't really like it, Malaysian Airlines and Singapore Airlines are still my favourite. Watched couple of movies, don't ask me what I have watched hahah.... the sweet & sour fish was not bad at all, thats for dinner, and breakfast was "cheong fun" the rice flour cake with chicken, was ok as I think they only have this in Cathay Pacific. Took some nap as I know that I will have a hectic schedule this time. :)

The Traveler's Lounge at Hong Kong's International Airport was very beautiful, it was new.

Had a good 3 hrs rest here, had my favourite grape juice from South Africa, don't ask me what is the name of the drink haha, it is sparkling. Did not have any "real" food although the noodle soup seems delicious, the chef cook it for you upon ordered. Not even in the mood of any alcoholic drink... well... read some magazines, gossips on the local actors & actresses, sometims just got to get myself updated on news on various aspects hahah...

Took shower before boarding the plane to LA, shower room was equipped with all the toiletries, hair dryer, is just like a shower room in a 5* hotel. while another 12 hrs of flight. This time I managed to take some rest, watched twilight 2, not bad at all being involved with both vampire and warewolve hahah....

Arrived at LA Tom Bradley International Terminal, it took me 30 mins to go through the queue to the immigration, going through the immigration is fast, I just need to scan through my 4 fingers on my right hand to get through, I guess everything is already in the system, whereby there rest of the people got to scan their thumbs and 4-fingers of both sides of their hand. Not forgeting a photo was taken as well. Another 30 mins wait in the queue after getting my checked-in baggage, the officer go through the declaration form and asked some questions before deciding whether to send you to another lane for a full scan on your bag. I do not need to go through the additional scan, at least that speed up my process, so I ran to terminal 1 to try to catch the earlier flight to Sacramento as I might missed the mixer if I have taken my scheduled flight.

I was quite lucky that the 2:30pm flight to Sacramento delayed, I manage to get on to this earlier flight, cool, at least I will not miss the mixer organised by AFWPI. Finally arrived at Sacramento at 4:20pm. Phil (the owner of Hannibals' Catering and Events- the biggest caterer in Sacramento) picked me up from the airport. It was nice seeing him after a year, we met at the catersauce & event solution last year in Vegas. So he drove me straight to the country club - Winchester CC. The traffic was bad, it took us about an hour to arrive. It was a beautiful place, although I can't see much in the night haha...

Greeted by Richard when I arrived at the mixer and met Julia, Richard's wife, Jeff the photographer that I met in Singapore last March and many more. It was a great turned up although it was on a weekday, rainyday & out of town location. :) Thanks to Richard for inviting. :)

I hope that we could have gathering like this in Malaysia and most importantly getting the supports from the vendors. :)

After the mixer, Phil and I stopped by at a Mexican Restaurant to have a quick & "light" meal. :) By the time we arrived at Phil's house, it was near to 10pm. Met Indra, phil's wife, very nice & sweet lady and the 2 kids. :) We chatted for awhile and watched the recorded Amrican Idol, we all agreed that it was much nicer to be able to fast forward the commercial :) By 12 midnight, I was so tired and I headed to bed.

The next day when I woke up, I should said being woke up by Indra, so embarassed that, that was actually the 3rd attempt for them to wake me up haha... I was so tired that I did not even hear 2 first two. :) Indra was so sweet that she had prepared a full American Breakfast for me, yummy... after the breakfast we headed to Hannibal's Catering & Events - phil's office. Wow, the kitchen was huge, the biggest that I have seen. I felt so honored to be invited to his office.
I am so glad that I have made this additional trip to Sacramento, although I have only stayed at Sacramento less than 24 hrs (including the overnight), but it was so worth it, not mentioning meeting friends, attended the mixer, visited the biggest caterer in Sacramento.
